Why aren’t there efforts to encourage green consciousness in businesses, who in turn produce so much pollution?
For example, the Sonicare Toothbrushes, when the rechargeable battery gets old, the whole thing is thrown out. Sending a lot of plastic into the environment. Why doesn’t Sonicare, produce a model that we can open to replace just the battery, when the time to replace battery comes around?
In the case of Hair Dryers, virtually all hair dryers on the market are energy hogs. Notice how the lights dim every time you turn on a hair dryer?
If there were a choice of models, some with a lower power consumption rate and a lower heat setting (instead of hot and very hot). Would make a great improvement on local power use in every metropolitan community.
For example, I used to have a very old model hair dryer, that had a dialed variable speed which made the dryer run at a low speed and lower temperature (hence lower use of power). died after 17 years of use. When I went to shop for a replacement, I found that the majority if hair dryers are virtually identical. There are so many that are basically the same, except for different colours and designer logos printed on them. But they all run at high speed/high output & drain a lot of power off of the grid.
If hair dryers didn’t have to use so much power, the Grid wouldn’t have to have so much standby power on - stand-by. Every time a bunch of folks suddenly turn on a bunch of hair dryers, is an abrupt drain on the grid, what happens when whole neighborhoods suddenly turn on their hair dryers - sudden power demand on the grid. Which draws power from where else - carbon producing generation plants.
Why aren’t manufacturers making more green environmentally conscious products, instead of producing the same old environmentally unfriendly polluting wasteful products?

Spyderco Persistence: Pays Off Big
This the little brother to the also excellent Spyderco Tenacious is another impressive blade. That knife, reviewed by me in August 2008, has become a home run for Spyderco. It remains a very popular EDC and folding tactical knife choice that continues to enjoy brisk sales. Thats because, as stated before, it represents an outstanding value. The Persistence is the same exact knife as the Tenacious, just slightly smaller. The weights are surprisingly similar however: 4.0 oz for Tenacious, 3.6 …

Bugera 1960 Amplier Demo Fulltone OCD Marshall 1969 Plexi Clone
the spikey Vintage 30 speakers, sounds great with Greenbacks. At home it sounds a bit too bright and I probably should have dialed in some warmth for the demo but wanted to set everything flat for demo purposes. At a gig it really cuts through the mix nicely and even at half power can blow the roof off, much louder than my old JCM 800 50 watt combo with KT88s and V30 speaker. Doesn’t quite sound like a roaring low end Plexi but has nice mids and clean power that can be shaped …

Baxter, a maker of vaccines was recently caught putting live bird flu in their vaccines, which got many sick and the vaccine was even supported and approved by the World Health Organization. The tyranny is reaching its pinnacle and we need to overcome the vibration of fear and move into a vibration of empowerment, unity and peace if …
James Burke : Connections, Episode 5, “Wheel Of Fortune”, 4 of 5 (CC)
steel of a uniform strength. But in 1740, who could melt steel? Well, the glassmakers who worked in this place could. Only, they didn’t know it. Until a clockmaker called Benjamin Huntsman came along and noticed that the local glass makers were putting old bits of glass into their furnaces and managing to melt them because they lined the walls of these places with a kind of clay that reflected the heat back into the furnace, and that sent the temperature way up. The first thing Huntsman did …
